About the position

As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a crucial role in administering human resources policies and programs while balancing employee advocacy with business operating needs. Your primary focus will be on promoting equity, fair treatment, and positive employee relations, ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws. You will provide comprehensive HR support to a designated client group, which includes recruitment and retention of critical talent, continuous performance coaching and management, proactive issue identification and resolution, and coaching for effective leadership decision-making and communication skills. Understanding and supporting the accomplishment of business priorities will be essential in this role. You will be responsible for building credible relationships with Business Leaders to facilitate better decision-making and organizational effectiveness. It will be your duty to ensure that company policies are administered fairly and consistently throughout your area of responsibility. You will effectively communicate and execute necessary changes to policies and procedures, ensuring that all employees are informed and compliant. In addition to these responsibilities, you will perform employee relations functions, providing support and counseling regarding personnel and job-related conflicts, problem-solving, and dispute resolution. You will manage employee performance issues and review termination requests. Conducting employee-related investigations as necessary will also be part of your role. You will handle workers' compensation processes, including the first report of injury database and safety regulations. You will coordinate the administration of all Leave of Absence programs and processes, including the Transitional Work Program and Accommodations Process. Conducting health and welfare benefits open enrollment meetings and employee meetings to update or roll out other benefits-related programs will be required. You will also conduct training for employees and supervisors on benefits, policies, procedures, and the prevention of harassment and discrimination. Timely and accurate entries to the HRIS database and payroll entry for your designated client group will be essential. You will perform audit and compliance functions as requested, maintaining employee records in compliance with state and federal requirements. On an as-needed basis, you may participate in various HR committees established to resolve employment challenges. Additionally, you will assist in managing and executing bonus plans, merit processes, and routine or special request reports, as well as assist in the annual budget planning process. Recruitment and staffing from internal and external sources may also be part of your duties, along with any other tasks as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a professional manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.
  • Demonstrated PC skills and MS Office skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
  • Ability to show judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and procedures.
  • Knowledge of state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Knowledge of staffing and employment practices.
  • Knowledge of employee relations procedures and applicable law.
