This role is essential in supporting the HR functions of the organization, particularly in recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training and development, HR administration, and compliance with labor laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, with at least three years of recent experience in the field, and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic recruitment programs for non-retail positions. This includes assisting hiring managers in the recruitment process and ensuring that new employees complete all necessary paperwork and orientations. In addition to recruitment, the HR Generalist will support the performance management process by helping set goals, conducting performance evaluations, and developing performance improvement plans. The role also involves identifying training needs within the organization and coordinating training sessions on various topics, including diversity and inclusion, compliance, and leadership development. The HR Generalist will maintain accurate employee records, prepare HR-related reports, and assist in the development of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, along with 3-5 years of experience in HR. Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus. The role demands a high level of confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information, along with a commitment to maintaining compliance with labor laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic recruitment programs for all non-retail positions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of onboarding programs for new hires.
  • Ensure all new employees complete required paperwork and orientations.
  • Support the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and performance improvement plans.
  • Provide training and guidance to managers on performance management best practices.
  • Identify training needs within the organization and develop training programs to address those needs.
  • Coordinate and deliver training sessions on topics such as diversity and inclusion, compliance, and leadership development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and HRIS data entry.
  • Prepare HR-related reports and analytics for management as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in labor laws and regulations and communicate any changes to management and employees.
  • Assist in conducting audits and investigations to ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with web-based applicant tracking systems, internet search engines, and Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
