About the position

The Human Resources Generalist will support the Director of Human Resources in managing various HR functions including personnel office management, recruitment, employee relations, training, and compliance with regulations. This role involves overseeing workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and risk management, while also preparing reports and serving as a liaison with legal representatives as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment, screening, and administrative orientation for providers.
  • Manage new hire processing, separations, reclassifications, and update employee information in the HRIS.
  • Ensure audit compliance, including JCAHO survey, and coordinate with the Executive Assistant to maintain up-to-date licenses for providers and licensed staff.
  • Assess training needs, conduct employee and management training as required.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of HRIS modules and ensure day-to-day HRIS support.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the agency's affirmative action program, including filing EEO-1 and Vets-4212 reports annually.
  • Provide support to managers on staff development, labor laws, and compliance with current regulations.
  • Maintain organized personnel files, ensuring compliance with labor law requirements and company policies.
  • Assist with updating personnel policies, employee handbooks, and ensuring that handbooks and personnel documents are current.
  • Serve as a liaison for workers' compensation, general liability, and unemployment, processing claims and incident reports to minimize risk.
  • Ensure compliance with JCAHO and HIPAA standards related to HR, and participate in the Improving Organization Performance Program.
  • Prepare and submit monthly narrative and statistical HR reports.
  • Stay updated on labor law changes and ensure that the HR Director and CEO are informed of any HR-related situations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or 4 years of HR experience with certification.
  • Knowledge of state and federal labor laws, JCAHO standards, and healthcare licensing regulations.
  • Familiarity with workers' compensation, general liability, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Typing speed of 65 words per minute.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
