About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at SerVaas Laboratories will manage day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws while providing support to employees and management. This role encompasses a variety of HR tasks, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and payroll, within a hands-on, flexible work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Conduct new employee orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and issues, addressing concerns and mediating conflicts.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and inquiries, working with providers to resolve issues.
  • Maintain employee records ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee information and job classification.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, maintaining and updating HR policies as needed.
  • Process payroll as needed when the payroll specialist is unavailable, generating HR reports and analyzing data.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement and innovation, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate employee training programs, supporting career development initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization, leading safety meetings and tracking safety performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Desire to continue education and earn SPHR certification.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus; PHR certification is a plus.
  • Payroll experience is a plus.
