About the position

Freebee is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to play a pivotal role in our organization by overseeing daily operations and ensuring the seamless execution of various HR processes. This position is crucial for managing employee records, overseeing compliance standards, coordinating testing procedures and activities, and providing essential administrative support to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness within the HR department. The HR Generalist will maintain smooth departmental functions, offering HR support to both employees and management while ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory compliance. The HR Generalist will be responsible for auditing and tracking the completion of various employee-related checks, including Motor Vehicle Records (MVR), background checks, Department of Transportation (DOT) physical certifications, necessary licenses, and DOT drug and alcohol testing for the entire workforce. Additionally, this role involves compiling reports on employee benefit information, attrition, training, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) statistics, EEO-1 reporting, and conducting surveys for orientation, post-training, first 30 days, exit interviews, and quarterly pulse checks. The ideal candidate will maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, employment law, and compliance. They will conduct thorough assessments to identify training needs across different departments, collaborating with department heads and team leaders to understand specific skill gaps and performance improvement areas. The HR Generalist will also gather feedback from participants and stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of training programs and continuously update training content to reflect changes in policies, procedures, and industry best practices. Regular analysis of data and reporting on training effectiveness and participant performance will also be part of the responsibilities. This position serves as a backup to the Head of HR for all HR-related matters and may involve performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Audits and tracks the completion of MVR, Background Checks, DOT Physical Certifications, Necessary Licenses, and DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing for the entire workforce.
  • Compiles reports on employee benefit information, attrition, trainings, DEI Statistics, EEO-1 reporting, surveys for orientation, post training, first 30 days, exit interviews, and quarterly pulse checks.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, employment law, and compliance.
  • Conducts thorough assessments to identify training needs across different departments while collaborating with department heads and team leaders to understand specific skill gaps and performance improvement areas.
  • Gathers feedback from participants and stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of training programs and continuously updates training content to reflect changes in policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Analyzes data and provides regular reports on training effectiveness and participant performance.
  • Serves as back-up to the Head of HR for all HR related matters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Bachelor's preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR administrative role or a similar position.
  • Knowledge and experience in HRIS, HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or other office software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and benefits administration can be beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A customer-service orientation with a focus on supporting employees and management.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems and processes as needed.
