About the position

The Human Resources Generalist is a full-time position at Oak Plains Academy, responsible for overseeing the full cycle of recruiting, which includes sourcing candidates through various channels, employee engagement, and coordinating New Hire Orientation. This role also involves employment onboarding, maintaining records management and data integrity, tracking employee in-services, and performing other assigned duties. The HR Generalist will manage the HealthStream training system, ensuring that annual training modules are assigned to both existing and new hire employees. In addition to these responsibilities, the HR Generalist will work collaboratively in a team environment, providing administrative support to executive committees and administrative meetings. This includes preparing and maintaining employee files, managing clearances and licensure renewals, overseeing employee training, and handling special projects as needed. Oak Plains Academy is a structured 98-bed residential treatment program that provides psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents facing emotional and behavioral challenges. The facility is staffed by a professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers, all dedicated to creating individualized treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each resident. The campus, set on 20 acres of rolling hills, features a full-size gymnasium, dining hall, academic building, and dormitories, providing an excellent environment for outdoor recreational activities. The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the mission of Oak Plains Academy by ensuring that the organization attracts and retains qualified staff who are committed to the care and healing of the residents.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee full cycle recruiting including sourcing candidates through various channels.
  • Coordinate and facilitate New Hire Orientation and employment onboarding.
  • Maintain records management and data integrity for employee files.
  • Track employee in-services and manage clearances/licensure renewals.
  • Administer the HealthStream training system, assigning training modules to employees.
  • Provide administrative support to executive committees and meetings.
  • Prepare and maintain employee files and manage special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with three plus years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Experience in full cycle recruiting, including onboarding new employees, preferably in healthcare.
  • Ability to mediate employee concerns and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission and other healthcare regulations is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and superb problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Flexible schedule is required.
