About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Odysseys Unlimited is responsible for supporting the HR department in various functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, and HRIS administration. This role acts as the first point of contact for HR inquiries and aims to maintain a positive company culture while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment including job postings, screening, interviews, onboarding, and DEI recruiting efforts.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and develop screening materials.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for candidates, ensuring timely responses and excellent customer service.
  • Provide salary recommendations compliant with Massachusetts Equal Pay Act and internal equity philosophy.
  • Draft and process offer letters, background checks, and onboarding documents.
  • Coordinate new hire orientations and conduct employee handbook training.
  • Assist employees and supervisors with company policy-related questions.
  • Support supervisors in performance management actions, including drafting performance reviews.
  • Manage the employee separation checklist and ensure completion.
  • Organize company events and manage HR supplies.
  • Support and lead initiatives to promote employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Maintain human resources bulletin boards and ensure compliance with employment laws.
  • Create and maintain employee files in compliance with data security policies.
  • Manage assigned HRIS modules and ensure accurate employee changes are entered on time.
  • Implement and train on the Performance Management Module.
  • Liaise with HRIS provider regarding issues and enhancements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of human resources generalist experience or equivalent education/certification.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, performance management, and talent acquisition.
  • Experience with HRIS administration, preferably Paylocity.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with federal and state employment laws.

Nice-to-haves

  • Payroll processing experience.
  • Aptitude to learn new software applications and generate reports.
