About the position

The Human Resources Generalist provides front-line support to team members, and is the main contact for all benefit, pay, and HR-related questions. In addition to maintaining the HR System, the HR Generalist will be responsible for processing payroll and administering all benefits and retirement programs. The individual will build strong working relationships with onsite leadership and will cultivate a strong community culture, reinforcing "One Team."

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processing compliant and accurate weekly, bi-weekly and ad-hoc multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes.
  • Responsible for benefits administration, ensuring the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Research and resolve HR system issues and respond to ad hoc system and reporting requests.
  • Provide exceptional internal customer service to all team members and respond to inquiries from team members in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized records of employee payroll and benefits information.
  • Perform annual projects, regular audits and quality checks of company, employment, and benefit related data to ensure compliance and data integrity in HRIS.
  • Timely and accurately execute responsibilities and compliance activities related to payroll and benefits (non-discrimination testing, highly comp testing, required notices, worker's comp filings, annual fees, etc.).
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of pay and benefit laws. Keep current on legislative changes to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pay and employment laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for onboarding activities such as benefit enrollment.
  • Collaborate with HR Manager to communicate, facilitate, and champion HR programs and company-wide initiatives such as corporate communication, employee engagement and recognition programs.
  • Support leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA in accordance with law and company policies as assigned by HR Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years' experience processing multi-state payroll and benefits administration.
  • Experience in supporting a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and exercise good judgment and discretion in handling and disseminating information.
  • Impeccable follow-through and attention to detail. Excellent mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems, and comfortable learning new technology.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and motivated; not afraid to "roll up your sleeves."
  • Strong internal and external customer service skills.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of HR federal laws and regulations.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
