About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Bruno Bock is responsible for managing the HR functions for US operations. This full-time, on-site role involves a variety of HR activities including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, and compliance with employment laws. The HR Generalist will serve as the sole practitioner in HR, ensuring that all organizational objectives and legal requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional human resource support in areas such as recruiting, onboarding, employee and labor relations, benefits, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain HR documentation and records, including employee personnel files and processing onboarding and off-boarding paperwork.
  • Provide staffing support by coordinating job postings, reviewing resumes, performing pre-screening interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies and the Company Employee Handbook.
  • Regularly audit records for active employees, including I-9's and payroll records.
  • Administer employee benefits program, including enrollments and resolving benefits-related issues.
  • Manage employee leaves and unemployment claims, and assist with workers compensation claims.
  • Assist supervisors in the performance review process and act as a resource to employees regarding HR policies and benefits.
  • Coordinate employee incentive and service award programs.
  • Assist with disciplinary matters and conflict resolution as needed.
  • Administer the Company's payroll function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.
  • Resolve payroll-related employee questions and concerns and manage escalated inquiries.
  • Download payroll reports and assist with annual audits of benefit plans.
  • Assist leadership in interpreting union contract issues and negotiating collective bargaining agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
  • At least five to seven years of Payroll and/or Human Resources experience required.
  • Certification in Human Resources preferred (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP and/or PHR/SPHR).
  • Current knowledge of State and Federal employment law and practical application of employment law.
  • Experience with compensation practices, FLSA, FMLA, ERISA, and payroll-related rules and regulations highly desired.
  • Experience with Paychex Flex desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in labor relations and negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
  • Knowledge of employee incentive programs and service awards.
