About the position

Join our Snack-tastic Team as a Human Resources Generalist at Shearer's! Located at our Waterford Plant, you will play a crucial role in supporting daily HR operations, including onboarding, payroll, employee relations, and benefits administration. As the HR superhero, you will spread positivity and drive an engaged culture through meaningful interactions with our hourly workforce. You will be the go-to guru for company policies and practices, ensuring that all employees are informed and compliant with regulations such as FMLA, ADA, and FLSA. In this dynamic role, you will collaborate with Talent Acquisition to manage headcount and support our business needs. You will create and lead effective new hire onboarding and training programs, championing our Retention, Rewards, and Recognition Employee Involvement Teams. Your responsibilities will also include counseling line management and associates on company policies and federal and state employment laws, ensuring a smooth and compliant HR process. Responsibilities

  • Support daily HR operations including onboarding, payroll, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Drive an engaged culture through positive interactions with the hourly workforce.
  • Communicate, interpret, and enforce all company policies and practices applicable to the site.
  • Manage headcount and partner with Talent Acquisition to support business needs.
  • Develop effective new hire onboarding and training programs in collaboration with Operations Leaders.
  • Lead Retention, Rewards, and Recognition Employee Involvement Teams.
  • Counsel line management and associates on company policies, procedures, and federal and state employment law.
  • Oversee administrative processes around data management including new hire setup and associate information management.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements such as FMLA, ADA, and FLSA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 2 years of HR experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead with empathy and thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM or HRCI certifications.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably ADP.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and establish trust with line management and hourly workforce.
