About the position

This is an on-site role at Kings River Packing, LP headquarters office in Sanger, CA. Kings River Packing, LP is an 8th generation family-owned grower-packer-shipper, integral to the citrus industry, growing and marketing citrus across domestic and international markets. During the offseason, the company imports citrus from various countries. The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) will play a pivotal role in implementing and coordinating human resource programs and projects as directed by the Human Resources Director. Acting as a trusted and objective liaison between the employees and KRP Management, the HRG will manage and address employee inquiries effectively. The HRG's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, employee relations, benefits, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, payroll, training and development, safety and health, and compliance with all applicable laws. The HRG should be well versed in all HR functions to provide support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and executing people procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation.
  • Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, including queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements.
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve the efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole and to improve the employee experience.
  • Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and procedures as required.
  • Manage payroll processing, including benefit changes, leaves, promotions, garnishments, tracking PTO, PSL, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain data integrity within Payroll (Paylocity) system, ensuring accurate employee records, including sensitive payroll information.
  • Assist with setting up files and reports, as well as other special and ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Assist with employee relations issues and provide guidance and support to managers and employees.
  • Provide support to employees by distributing necessary paperwork, tracking time off for all types of leaves and accommodations, including, FMLA/CFRA, ADA, PFL, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Administer worker's compensation programs, ensure timely reporting, claims management, and coordination with insurance providers.
  • Coordinate talent acquisition process with hiring managers and assist with recruitment workflows in ATS.
  • Prepare, schedule, and facilitate a smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience.
  • Collaborate with management team and HR Director to assist with maintaining and updating job descriptions.
  • Work with HR Director on company functions, recognition and reward programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Monitor and track compliance and safety training, ensuring documents are kept current.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date employee records and HR documentation.
  • Assist in the implementation and coordination of special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the HR department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working as an HR Generalist or in a similar role.
  • Payroll processing experience, Paylocity experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem solving, reporting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems (Paylocity), and comfortable learning new technology systems as needed.
  • Alignment with the company's mission and core values.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
