About the position

The Human Resources Generalist position at Protos Security, LLC is a pivotal role responsible for collaborating with leaders and managers to support and develop team members across the organization. This position encompasses a variety of HR functions, including employee relations, leave management, talent management, recruitment, benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in aligning company policies and procedures with best practices while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. In this role, the HR Generalist will stay informed about the evolving HR landscape and provide guidance on how changes may impact the organization. Utilizing ADP Workforce Now, the Generalist will manage and maintain employee data, oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, and handle employee changes and reporting. The position also involves administering employee benefits and providing support for leave of absence requests, accommodation requests, and processing related administrative paperwork. The HR Generalist will assist in managing Workers Compensation claims, monitor employee status, and facilitate return-to-work processes. By collaborating with management and employees, the Generalist will serve as a trusted HR advisor, offering policy guidance, addressing employee concerns, and working towards solutions that enhance workplace experience, performance, and retention. Additionally, the role includes supporting recruitment efforts, preparing job descriptions, and assisting in the hiring and onboarding processes. The HR Generalist will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining reports related to HR processes and compliance tracking, analyzing trends and metrics to develop solutions for specific departments and the organization as a whole. The position requires a proactive approach to recommending new policies and procedures to improve the efficiency of the HR department and the services it provides. The HR Generalist will also perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the HR function within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure company policies and procedures align with best practices and comply with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
  • Keep abreast of the changing HR landscape and provide guidance on how they impact the organization.
  • Utilize ADP Workforce Now to manage and maintain employee data, including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and reporting.
  • Assist in administering benefits and provide support to team members in areas covering leave of absences, accommodation requests, and administrative paperwork processing of leave requests.
  • Assist in managing Workers Compensation Claim reporting, employee status, and return to work.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to become a trusted HR advisor; provide HR policy guidance and interpretation; listen to concerns and work to find solutions that improve the workplace experience, boost performance and retention.
  • Provide guidance to employees in various HR-related topics such as onboarding, policies, recognition, engagement, culture, conflict management, and investigations.
  • Guide and work with management to support recruitment, prepare job descriptions, and assist the hiring and onboarding process.
  • Prepare, maintain, and disseminate reports related to HR processes and compliance tracking; analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions for specific departments and the organization.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and services performed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or commensurate work experience.
  • 5 years of progressive HR generalist experience.
  • Multi-site support preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HR functions including recruiting and hiring, benefit administration, employee/labor relations, and compensation.
  • Familiarity with benefits enrollment and administration.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Ability to use business acumen to exercise good judgment and decision-making.
  • Ability to interface with team members and management at all levels, handling confidential issues and information with discretion.
  • Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure and operate with a keen sense of urgency and commitment to quality.
