The Human Resource Generalist will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Human Resource (HR) department. This role encompasses a variety of functions including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay and benefits, managing leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant employment laws and regulations while fostering a positive workplace culture. In this position, the HR Generalist will review, track, and document compliance with both mandatory and non-mandatory training programs, which may include safety training, anti-harassment training, and professional licensure. The individual will be tasked with recruiting and interviewing qualified candidates for open positions, collaborating closely with departmental managers to identify the necessary skills and competencies for each role. Additionally, the HR Generalist will conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications to ensure that all hires meet the organization's standards. The role also involves implementing new hire orientation and employee recognition programs, as well as performing routine tasks related to the administration of HR programs. This includes managing compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, and performance management. The HR Generalist will handle employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees, referring complex issues to the appropriate staff when necessary. Participation in employee disciplinary meetings and investigations is also a key responsibility, along with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. To succeed in this role, the HR Generalist must stay informed about trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources and employment law. The position may also require performing other duties as assigned, making adaptability and a willingness to take on new challenges essential traits for the ideal candidate.
