About the position

The Human Resource Generalist at Sandy Park Development Center plays a crucial role in managing human resources functions, ensuring effective communication of HR policies, and supporting employee relations. This position involves overseeing recruitment, employee status changes, and maintaining personnel records, while also facilitating employee evaluations and benefits enrollment. The HR Generalist collaborates with management to enhance team morale and retention through culture and engagement programs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations concerns and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Oversee employee status changes including transfers and terminations, and communicate changes to the Bookkeeper.
  • Maintain accurate personnel record storage and conduct routine audits of employee files.
  • Ensure timely completion of 90-day reviews and annual evaluations, sending scores to payroll by the due date.
  • Enhance team relationships and retention through ongoing culture and engagement programs in collaboration with the Administrator.
  • Manage the recruitment process by creating job requisitions and screening applicants.
  • Coordinate candidate interviews and complete the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Organize and schedule new employee orientation programs, distributing policies and guidelines.
  • Assist new full-time employees with enrollment in group insurance plans and provide benefit information.
  • Coordinate requests for new job descriptions and revisions with the CFC Human Resources Manager.
  • Gather information regarding Worker's Compensation Claims and manage the process for injured employees.
  • Provide administrative oversight for leave of absence policies and ensure ADA compliance.
  • Facilitate the yearly open enrollment process for all benefits in coordination with the CFC Human Resources Manager.
  • Communicate the annual employee survey process and assist with action plans for improvement.
  • Manage the Wage Scale for Compliance and make recommendations regarding wage scale changes.
  • Attend department head meetings and participate in employee recognition events.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources required, including knowledge of employee relations, workplace investigations, and relevant laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or Business Administration preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
