About the position

We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist! In this role, you will support the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including employee relations, training and development, staffing and recruitment, payroll, benefits and compensation, and enforcing company policies and practices. You will develop and maintain the best possible working relationships with internal and external customers by providing service that meets or exceeds our customers' expectations. This on-site position is located at our Headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report directly to the Director, Human Resources. In your role, you will conduct new hire orientation, ethics and harassment training, and exit/retention interviews. You will perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to payroll, benefits and compensation, performance and talent management, and employee rewards/recognition. You will handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law will be essential to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Additionally, you will assist with staffing and recruiting, interviews, and the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions. You will also recruit qualified students for internship and part-time roles, maintaining relationships with universities and organizations to attract a diverse pipeline of early talent into the company to meet our business needs. Conducting or acquiring background checks, references, and employee eligibility verifications will be part of your responsibilities. You will assist with the company's DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing program and vision testing requirements, and perform routine office-management support functions including front desk/phone coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or another related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience working in a professional human resources role supporting multiple shifts in a technical and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act as a team player or independently with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now.
