The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing various HR-related duties at a professional level, closely collaborating with Sales management to participate in multiple Human Resources functions. This role encompasses recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, training, record keeping, performance management, policy implementation, communication, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment and supporting the overall HR strategy of the organization. In this position, the HR Generalist will assist in the implementation of personnel policies for all employees. They will be responsible for recruitment efforts, which include conducting phone screens, coordinating interviews with hiring managers, and making employment offers. The role also involves coordinating post-offer pre-employment physicals and drug screens, as well as submitting online background investigations for new hires. Monthly new employee orientations will be conducted, covering essential topics such as new hire paperwork, safety training, harassment training, and benefits enrollment. The HR Generalist will ensure that all documents are submitted to Payroll in a timely manner and will verify I-9 documentation using E-verify. Additionally, the HR Generalist will audit and participate in all performance appraisals, coordinating with supervisors to discuss evaluations for their department's employees. They will inform and explain company-provided benefits to new and current employees, ensuring that completed enrollment paperwork is submitted promptly. Maintaining accurate personnel records in the HRIS system is a critical responsibility, along with handling employee relations counseling and conducting investigations when necessary. The HR Generalist will also manage terminations and disciplinary actions, complete and file unemployment claims, and attend unemployment hearings as required. Regular attendance at weekly HR meetings is expected to stay aligned with departmental goals and initiatives.
