About the position

Dexter, a leading manufacturer and supplier in the trailer and towing components industry, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist for its manufacturing facility in Elkhart, Indiana. This role is pivotal in supporting the development, implementation, and execution of human resources policies, procedures, and programs. The HR Generalist will be involved in various HR functions including performance management, employee benefits, compensation, employee relations, training and development, and succession planning. The position requires a proactive approach to enhance HR services and ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards. The HR Generalist will be responsible for planning, developing, reviewing, administering, and revising HR programs and policies. This includes providing advice and counsel to staff on interpreting and updating these programs. A strong knowledge of human resources topics such as OSHA, FMLA, and employment policies is essential. The role also involves maintaining confidentiality of employee information and HR records, assisting in identifying training needs, and facilitating HR training programs. In addition, the HR Generalist will lead interdepartmental teams to complete projects efficiently and accurately. Acting as a liaison between the company, customers, and vendors, the HR Generalist will also assist in developing and communicating legal and prudent HR policies. The position requires recommending new approaches and procedures to improve departmental efficiency and service delivery. Furthermore, the HR Generalist will provide training and support to employees on goal planning and the effective use of the performance management system, ensuring compliance and timely completion of objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, reviews, administers and revises programs, policies and procedures.
  • Provides advice and counsel to staff on updating and interpreting programs.
  • Maintains confidentiality of employee information and HR records.
  • Assists in training needs identification regarding HR Programs including scheduling, facilitation, and delivery.
  • Develops and distributes HR trainings and communications to the facility and launches new initiatives to the organization.
  • Leads interdepartmental teams to complete assigned projects on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Acts as a liaison between the company, customers, and vendors.
  • Assists in the development, maintenance, and communication of legal and prudent Human Resources policies.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Provides training and support to employees on goal planning and effective use of performance management system.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 3+ years human resources experience.
  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills.
