About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Spectrum is responsible for administering HR policies and programs while balancing employee advocacy with business needs. This role promotes equity and positive employee relations, ensuring compliance with employment laws. The HR Generalist provides comprehensive support in recruitment, retention, performance management, and leadership development, fostering effective communication and decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Administer company policies fairly and consistently.
  • Communicate and execute changes to policies and procedures.
  • Perform employee relations functions including counseling and dispute resolution.
  • Conduct employee-related investigations as necessary.
  • Handle workers' compensation and safety regulations processes.
  • Coordinate Leave of Absence programs and processes.
  • Conduct health and welfare benefits open enrollment meetings.
  • Provide training for employees and supervisors on policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate entries to the HRIS database and payroll.
  • Perform audit and compliance functions as requested.
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Participate in HR committees to resolve employment challenges.
  • Assist in managing bonus plans and merit processes.
  • Recruit and staff from internal and external sources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and procedures.
  • Demonstrated PC skills and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
  • Consultative and coaching skills.
  • Analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications for Human Resource Professionals (PHR, SPHR) preferred.
  • Knowledge of cable television products and services.
