About the position

The University Club of Chicago, established in 1887, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This role is pivotal within our HR department, responsible for supporting a comprehensive range of human capital management functions. The successful candidate will play a key role in recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, and more, contributing to the growth and success of the club. As a member of our team, you will be involved in fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that our HR practices align with the club's mission of promoting intellectual pursuits and cultural programming. In this position, you will utilize various HR systems such as Taleo, PeopleSoft, SAP, or ADP to manage the recruitment process effectively. You will assist in coordinating employee onboarding, ensuring that new hires are welcomed and integrated smoothly into the organization. Your responsibilities will also include supporting talent management initiatives, conducting payroll processing, and addressing employee relations matters. You will be instrumental in maintaining accurate employee records and collaborating with management to develop and implement organizational policies and procedures. Responsibilities

  • Utilize HR systems such as Taleo, PeopleSoft, SAP, or ADP to manage the recruitment process, track candidate applications, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the coordination of employee onboarding, including processing new hire paperwork, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Provide support with talent management, including job postings, interview scheduling, and candidate evaluation.
  • Conduct payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment of employee salaries and benefits.
  • Handle employee relations matters, such as addressing conflicts, conducting exit interviews, and facilitating employee recognition and appreciation programs.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits programs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee data, including personnel files, employee performance evaluations, and attendance records.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on organizational policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives, such as employee engagement and diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with human capital management, talent management, and recruitment processes.
  • Proficiency with HR systems, including ADP.
  • Strong conflict management skills and ability to handle employee relations matters.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with payroll processing and employee benefits administration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
