As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the HR functions of a well-established company in the food manufacturing industry. This full-time, permanent position is based in Philadelphia, PA, and offers an annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $80,000, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Your primary responsibilities will encompass a wide array of HR-related duties, working closely with sales management to ensure effective HR practices are implemented throughout the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing personnel policies for all employees, which includes handling recruitment efforts such as conducting phone screens, coordinating interviews with hiring managers, and extending employment offers. You will also coordinate post-offer pre-employment physicals and drug screens, as well as submit online background investigations for new hires. Conducting monthly new employee orientations will be part of your duties, where you will cover essential topics such as new hire paperwork, safety training, harassment training, and benefits enrollment, ensuring that all documents are submitted to Payroll in a timely manner. Additionally, you will verify I-9 documentation and utilize E-verify for electronic submissions. Assisting in performance appraisals and coordinating evaluations with supervisors will be another key responsibility. You will explain company-provided benefits to employees and ensure that completed enrollment paperwork is submitted promptly. Maintaining department records and reports, organizing documents in employee files, and ensuring accurate records in the HRIS system will also be part of your daily tasks. You will provide employee relations counseling, conduct investigations when necessary, administer terminations and disciplinary actions, and complete and file unemployment claims, attending hearings as needed. Regular attendance at weekly HR meetings will be expected to stay aligned with departmental goals and initiatives.
