About the position

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resources Department, which includes a variety of responsibilities such as hiring and interviewing, administering pay, benefits, leave programs, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role is crucial in ensuring that the HR department operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the organization. The Generalist will perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, which encompass compensation, benefits, leave management, disciplinary matters, training, recognition, and morale enhancement. In addition to these responsibilities, the Human Resource Generalist will handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. They will facilitate benefit orientations for new RSDC associates and oversee compliance with employment and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to USCIS Form I-9, FMLA, COBRA, and EEOC regulations. The Generalist will coordinate with hiring supervisors to identify staffing needs, write and post job advertisements, and monitor all workers' compensation case files, acting as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, and insurance representatives. Furthermore, the Generalist will work closely with the union on grievance procedures and participate in grievance meetings with union members. Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations is a critical aspect of this role, as is processing payroll and performing other duties as assigned. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
