US Farathane is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to join our team in Riverside, MO. With over 40 years of experience in plastics manufacturing, we have established ourselves as a leading supplier to the automotive industry. As a Human Resource Generalist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our workforce and ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulations. In this position, you will be responsible for accurately processing and transmitting hourly payroll on a weekly basis. You will identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions, ensuring that our policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Your role will also involve recruiting, interviewing, testing, and selecting employees to fill vacant positions, as well as planning and conducting new employee orientation to foster positive attitudes toward company goals. You will maintain records of hourly personnel transactions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting. Advising management on appropriate resolutions for employee relations issues will be a key part of your responsibilities, along with responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. Additionally, you will assist in the performance review program for hourly employees, prepare employee separation notices, and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover. Your role will also include representing the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations, maintaining accurate attendance records, and preparing disciplinary write-ups as necessary. You will develop and maintain job descriptions for all plant personnel and provide key HR input into the development of plant and department strategy goals. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process and transmit hourly payroll on a weekly basis.
  • Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensure compliance.
  • Recruit, interview, test, and select employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitudes toward company goals.
  • Keep records of hourly personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Assist in performance review program for hourly employees to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation.
  • Prepare reports and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
  • Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Record changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records.
  • Assist in plant worker's compensation program including accident investigation, maintenance of the OSHA log, and accident reporting to the insurance carrier.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records for all hourly associates and prepare disciplinary write-ups as necessary.
  • Maintain good employee relations through effective communication and prompt attention to associate concerns.
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions for all plant personnel.
  • Provide key HR input into the development of plant and department strategy goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of experience in human resources is required.
  • Experience with payroll and Paycor is a plus.
