About the position

Trillium Professional is seeking a Human Resources Specialist/Generalist to join our team in Jeffersonville, IN. This full-time position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $75,000 to $83,000, along with a 10% bonus opportunity. The role is hybrid, allowing for a combination of on-site and remote work. The Human Resources Specialist will work closely with the General Affairs and Human Resource Senior Manager to support the entire human resource function, with a primary focus on enhancing the Employee Experience. This includes responsibilities in Training and Development, as well as leading innovations in our Human Resource Information System (HRIS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating onboarding approaches that positively impact employee engagement from the start of their employment journey. They will promote positive employee relations through various programs, including surveys, round-table discussions, employee recognition initiatives, and local engagement efforts. The Specialist will also support business performance by leveraging their knowledge and relationships to influence employment strategies and decision-making for both short-term and long-term objectives. In this role, the Human Resources Specialist will provide objective and constructive guidance to managers and employees regarding the interpretation and application of company policies, programs, and relevant state and federal laws. They will design communication strategies that empower employees to voice their opinions within the organization and will be tasked with reviewing and enhancing the employer brand. Additionally, the Specialist will measure and analyze employee feedback, analyze trend data to develop proactive recommendations, and advocate for the resolution of employee issues, including conducting internal investigations and coaching. The position also involves overseeing training and development programs, ensuring that new hires are adequately prepared to perform their essential job functions safely and productively. The Specialist will work closely with managers and production associates to assess individual roles and training needs, evaluate training effectiveness, and manage the record-keeping of required training across various domains, including HR, Safety, Environmental, and Quality. They will utilize HRIS tools, including applicant tracking systems and onboarding systems, to find opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies. The Specialist will also assist in interviewing new job candidates and ensure that all employee records are maintained and updated accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Create onboarding approaches that positively impact engagement from the start of the employment journey.

  • Support business performance by utilizing knowledge and relationships to influence employment strategies and decision-making on short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Provide objective and constructive guidance to managers and employees on the interpretation and application of Company policies, programs, and state and federal laws.
  • Design communication approaches that give employees a voice in the organization.
  • Review and enhance the employer brand.
  • Measure and analyze employee feedback.
  • Analyze trend data to develop proactive recommendations that mitigate systemic issues and support the continuous improvement of people policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Advocate and drive for the resolution of employee issues and concerns including internal investigations, corrective actions, and coaching.
  • Oversee training and development program.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of new hire onboarding and training plans to ensure every associate is prepared to perform essential job functions safely and productively.
  • Work closely with managers, supervisors, and production associates to understand individual roles, training needs, and evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Develop role-specific development plans.
  • Evaluate the quality of training courses and implement improvements.
  • Manage the record keeping of required training including HR, Safety, Environmental and Quality, and other applicable training.
  • Work with the Leadership Team to identify training gaps and solutions.
  • Utilize HRIS including applicant tracking system, onboarding system, and Paycom system.
  • Find opportunities to improve processes, procedures, and increase efficiencies in and out of the HRIS.
  • Create recurring and ad-hoc reports to support business needs and meet compliance requirements.
  • Assist in interviewing new job candidates.
  • Consistently apply HR policies to mitigate risk and ensure equitable solutions.
  • Backup various functions within GA/HR, including payroll maintenance.
  • Ensure all employee records are maintained and updated with new hire information or changes in employment status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, human resource management, organizational management or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with/overseeing employee development and HRIS systems.
  • 8+ years of human resources experience, highlighting employee experience improvements at an advanced level.
