About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Daikin Applied plays a crucial role in administering policies related to all phases of human resources activity. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations that affect human resources functions. The HR Generalist will develop and implement policies and procedures that support Foreign National employees, acting as a business partner to facilitate their integration and compliance within the organization. In addition to compliance, the HR Generalist will maintain detailed records of personnel transactions, including hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations. This data is essential for government reporting and Affirmative Action Plans. The role also involves training management on various HR processes such as interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety protocols, and sexual harassment policies. The HR Generalist will research and recommend training programs as needed, advise management on employee relations issues, and respond to inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs. Furthermore, this position administers the performance review and salary administration programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization. The HR Generalist will also prepare employee separation notices and conduct exit interviews to understand the reasons behind employee separations, contributing to the overall improvement of HR practices within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures compliance.
  • Develops policies and procedures for and supports Foreign National employees as a business partner.
  • Maintains records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting and Affirmative Action Plans.
  • Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
  • Researches training programs as requested by managers or as required for Corporate-wide training.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administers performance review program for assigned groups/departments to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity.
  • Administers salary administration program for assigned groups/departments to ensure compliance and equity.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations
  • 3+ years of related experience required
  • Union or Labor Relations experience preferred
