The Canton Public Schools is seeking an exceptional and dynamic candidate to serve as the Human Resources Generalist. This role is integral to the District's mission of elevating the educational experience for over 3,100 students in grades PreK-12. The Human Resources Generalist will join a vibrant and supportive team that prioritizes collaboration, creativity, flexibility, and a commitment to the goals of the District, as well as to our students, families, and staff. The District is dedicated to cultivating a school culture that promotes academic growth and social-emotional learning for every student, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning through the purposeful design of rigorous and equitable student experiences. In this position, the Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for implementing HR functions that deliver excellent service to the District. Working closely and confidentially with the Director of Personnel Services, the Generalist will support various HR activities including hiring and recruitment, onboarding and offboarding of employees, managing leaves of absence, and handling separations. This role requires close collaboration with substitutes, staff, administration, and the payroll office to ensure smooth HR operations. The Human Resources Generalist will conduct new hire processing and onboarding for all District employees, ensuring compliance with new hire requirements and supporting new hires throughout the onboarding process. Additionally, the Generalist will assist with employee recruitment activities, process employment verifications, and maintain employee records. This position also involves supporting retirement processing, managing employee CORIs and fingerprinting, and ensuring accurate and timely status changes in collaboration with payroll. The Generalist will serve as a liaison for staff members, town personnel, and candidates, and will support the Director of Personnel Services with leave management and compliance with labor law documentation.
