About the position

As a Human Resources Generalist at Marriott International, you will play a crucial role in supporting management and the leadership team in handling and resolving human resources-related issues. Your responsibilities will include assisting employees with internal and external transfer requests, monitoring and assisting managers/supervisors with hiring processes and related issues. You will coordinate and conduct drug testing, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle department checks, and social security number verifications. Maintaining applicant flow records, drug testing results, orientation records, and transfer requests will be part of your daily tasks. You will also create and maintain employee files and enter them into the Human Resources information systems. Additionally, you will assist with new employee orientation and ensure that all hiring processes comply with local, state, and federal laws as well as company policies and standards. Your role will require you to ensure the accurate maintenance of all employee records, including interview documents and I-9 forms. You will support payroll processing and record maintenance according to policies and procedures as needed. Reporting to Human Resources managers about employee relations issues within the division or property will be essential. You will create and maintain filing systems, generate HR data reports as needed, answer phones, and record messages. You will also create and type correspondence using a computer and serve as a subject matter expert in Human Resources while participating in project teams. Training new employees on HR processes, programs, policies, and information systems will be part of your responsibilities. It is vital to adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring that your uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional while maintaining the confidentiality of company information. You will communicate with others using clear and professional language, prepare and review written documents accurately and promptly, and answer phones using appropriate etiquette. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with others, supporting the team to achieve common goals, and listening and responding appropriately to others' concerns will be key aspects of your role. You may also be required to move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds (4.5 kg) or less without assistance. Other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors will also be part of your responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Work experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • Supervisory experience: No supervisory experience required.
