The Human Resource Generalist will support many processes of the Human Resource (HR) department including but not limited to championing the recruitment process for hiring and interviewing staff, creating talent pipeline development opportunities and processes, supporting our orientation process, and facilitating employee engagement events. This role is essential in ensuring that the HR department operates smoothly and effectively, contributing to the overall success of the organization. In this position, the HR Generalist will participate in Continuous Systems Improvement training, efforts, and team collaboration. The individual will be responsible for recruiting, scheduling interviews, and facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions. This includes collaborating with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for openings, sourcing and developing relationships with internal stakeholders, organizations, and community members to provide recruitment opportunities, and conducting or acquiring background checks and employee eligibility verifications. The HR Generalist will also implement new hire orientation and participate in, champion, and occasionally lead employee engagement and recognition programs. Routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs will include managing compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development. The role will handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as reviewing policies and practices to ensure compliance, is also a critical aspect of this position. The HR Generalist will need to stay informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law, and perform other duties as assigned.
