About the position

Golden Rule Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electrical is looking for an HR Generalist to play a crucial role in our fast-paced and expanding team! As an HR Generalist, you'll be at the heart of our Human Resources department, handling a variety of tasks that keep our operations running smoothly. From onboarding new talent to administering benefits, managing employee relations, and even stepping in with payroll support, your contributions will help us maintain our commitment to delivering exceptional service. You'll also serve as the key liaison between Golden Rule and our PEO partner, Connectify HR, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including preparation of offer letter, conducting background checks, orientation, training schedules, and paperwork completion
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR, policies, procedures, and benefits, in coordination with PEO; support management in addressing employee relations issues
  • Support the performance management process by assisting with performance reviews, tracking employee progress, and facilitating improvement plans when necessary
  • Partner with PEO on leave of absence requests, including FMLA
  • Promote a positive work environment through employee engagement activities and communication
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving HR processes and employee satisfaction, in coordination with PEO
  • Assist with the tracking of attendance and PTO, in coordination with the HRIS (PrismHR)
  • Collaborate with the payroll department to assist with timely processing of employee payroll, as needed
  • Administration of worker's compensation claim and related documentation
  • Coordinate and track employee training programs, ensuring compliance with industry certifications and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in an HR role required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant tools
  • Exhibits the ability to identify needs and implement solutions independently, demonstrating a high level of motivation and resourcefulness
  • Brings a high level of enthusiasm and ambition to the role, actively pursuing objectives and tackling challenges head-on
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and empathy, working well with others to build strong, productive relationships and contribute to a cohesive team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HR software and systems
  • Knowledge of industry-specific best practices
  • Certification from a recognized HR professional organization (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus
