About the position

As a Human Resources Generalist at Walgreens, you will work under the direction of the HR Manager to provide comprehensive HR support across a wide range of activities. Your role will encompass employee engagement, performance management, recruitment and selection, employee relations, compensation, employee benefits, training, and various special HR projects as assigned. You will be expected to understand the business needs and how Human Resources can effectively influence and lead the organization to achieve its key objectives. Compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as adherence to recommended best practices, will be a critical aspect of your responsibilities. You will partner with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) on escalated matters and provide coaching to leadership, promoting a positive working environment and ensuring smooth communication among team members and leaders to resolve issues promptly. In this role, you will build strong relationships with leaders and provide partnership to implement HR strategies, programs, and deliverables that align with business goals. You will offer coaching and guidance on organizational policies and practices, including equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, fair wage hour, and work condition practices. Your responsibilities will also include conducting recruitment efforts for both exempt and nonexempt team members, as well as contingent workers, facilitating new employee orientations, and monitoring career pathing programs for continued growth. You will consult with managers and supervisors on absenteeism, turnover, and workforce data to help anticipate talent gaps, and you will be knowledgeable about employee benefits programs to assist team members with inquiries. Additionally, you will attend facility meetings to provide updates on company news, changes, and announcements, streamlining communication for the favorable adoption of new initiatives, policies, and concepts. You will facilitate discussions, encourage feedback, and provide timely resolutions to ongoing concerns and trends. Maintaining employee records related to attendance, leaves, disciplinary actions, and new hire paperwork will be part of your duties. You will continuously inspire a culture of celebration, appreciation, and recognition to drive engagement, support the launch of the annual engagement survey, analyze results, and partner with leadership to develop strategies for a positive workforce. The ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and make sound judgments will be essential, as will mentoring and training less experienced HR staff and providing feedback on performance reviews.
