About the position

The Human Resources (HR) Compliance Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that WPS Health Solutions adheres to employment and regulatory requirements. This position involves building a formal compliance program, monitoring legislation, conducting assessments, and developing compliance resources to mitigate organizational risks. The specialist will also conduct audits, manage employee notices, and support the generation of annual compliance filings.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal and multi-state employment laws and regulations.
  • Build and implement compliance protocols and practices.
  • Conduct assessments of existing HR practices to determine risk profiles.
  • Monitor and identify new and amended employment laws.
  • Analyze and propose modifications to HR procedures and systems.
  • Conduct routine audits of compliance procedures and propose modifications as needed.
  • Develop and maintain compliance resources and communications.
  • Coordinate data reports for EEO-1 and VETS 4212 filings.
  • Assist in generating annual Affirmative Action Plans and responding to audits.
  • Develop and present regulatory training programs for staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in human resources.
  • Thorough understanding of federal and state employment laws.
  • Proven ability to research and interpret employment laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • One to three years of experience in organizational compliance with employment laws.
  • Prior experience in organizational risk responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in developing proposals and presentations for leadership.
