About the position

The HR Compliance Specialist at Altec is responsible for ensuring that the company's HR policies and practices comply with federal and state regulations. This role involves monitoring regulatory changes, assisting in policy development, and promoting an ethical workplace culture. The specialist will work closely with the HR Compliance Manager and other HR partners to maintain compliance and address any issues that arise.

Responsibilities

  • Assists HR Compliance Manager with monitoring and ensuring compliance with HR regulatory changes from state and federal authorities.
  • Serves as backup to the HR Compliance Manager for AAP (OFCCP) and federal reporting (VETS 100A, EEO-1).
  • Researches and drafts HR policies and procedures in collaboration with the HR Compliance Manager.
  • Ensures consistency in the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures with HR partners.
  • Manages Altec Alert Line oversight, including investigating sensitive issues and documenting results.
  • Communicates key trends in Altec Alert Line complaints and recommends improvements in training.
  • Handles local, state, and federal contract bid submissions related to employment statistics.
  • Assists with completion and/or renewal of state compliance certifications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of applicable experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with an advanced degree (counts as one year experience) and 1 year of applicable experience.
  • Experience as an HR Generalist and/or Labor and Employment Compliance experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
