About the position

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist position at Holy Cross Medical Center is a full-time role focused on providing comprehensive HR support to employees and leadership within the organization. This position is essential in ensuring that HR policies and procedures are effectively communicated and adhered to, fostering a positive work environment. The HR Generalist will be responsible for a variety of functions, including personnel policy guidance, employee onboarding, and maintaining compliance with federal and state employment laws. The role requires a solid understanding of employee relations, labor laws, and HRIS processes, as well as excellent communication skills to handle sensitive situations and provide necessary documentation. In this role, the HR Generalist will coordinate open enrollments and changes for employee benefit programs, respond to HR-related inquiries, and assist with payroll processing. The position also involves administering new employee onboarding and orientation, ensuring that all new hires are properly integrated into the organization. The HR Generalist will work closely with Employee Health to ensure vaccination clearance for new employees and will be responsible for creating and maintaining employee badges. Additionally, the role includes monitoring the onboarding process for students, observers, and medical staff, as well as creating new employee file folders and liaising with university and college advisors. The HR Generalist will also be tasked with creating onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements is crucial, as is the ability to create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies. Collaboration with the human resources team to develop effective recruitment strategies is also a key responsibility of this position.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in the HR field.
  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Health Care Management, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of employee-related topics including employee relations and state and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Experience and strong understanding of HRIS and related processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations, provide guidance, and documentation.
  • A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
