About the position

The Human Resources Generalist position is a vital role within the company, focusing on various HR activities to support the recruitment, retention, and overall employee experience. This position emphasizes attention to detail and a commitment to serving others, ensuring compliance with HR regulations and fostering a positive workplace environment. The HR Generalist will handle payroll, employee benefits, and legal compliance while also engaging in employee relations and events.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain accurate and complete personnel files.
  • Administer corrections to timekeeping, ensuring accuracy and communicating discrepancies to the appropriate manager.
  • Process payroll utilizing reports from WorkEasy, Excel, Syteline, and Paychex Flex software.
  • Prepare and run standard HR and payroll-related reports.
  • Establish and maintain communications with employees at all levels regarding corporate strategies and programs.
  • Coordinate and schedule performance review meetings, preparing and disseminating documentation to managers.
  • Support management efforts to identify and coordinate employee training.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local human resources requirements, particularly affirmative action initiatives.
  • Assist in administering company benefit plans and providing benefit orientations to employees.
  • Foster a workplace environment consistent with the company's core values.
  • Support recruiting efforts as needed.
  • Participate in community outreach activities and communication.
  • Plan and coordinate employee events.
  • Perform general administrative functions such as scanning personnel files and document creation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of work experience in a human resources generalist role in a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and experience with HR systems/ATS.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing employment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with a sense of urgency and drive toward results.
  • Strong organizational skills, high accuracy, self-motivated, and personal/professional integrity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or technical environment (engineering, machining, assembly, etc.).
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels throughout the company and community.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $60,000 - $65,000 per year.
