The Human Resource (HR) Generalist at Schwarz Partners LP is a pivotal role responsible for supporting the HR team in various activities related to employee benefits, talent acquisition, employee relations, and the onboarding and off-boarding processes for new hires, promotions, and transfers. This position requires a proactive approach to providing best-in-class service to all team members and necessitates a solid understanding of federal and state employment laws and compliance requirements. The HR Generalist will work closely with employees, peers, and business partners to build long-term, productive relationships that foster a positive work environment. In this role, the HR Generalist will assist in developing and implementing human resources objectives and programs across several key areas, including staffing, compensation, performance management, retention, and training and development. The individual will also play a crucial role in the enrollment of company benefits programs, such as life, health, dental, and disability insurance, as well as retirement plans and paid time off (PTO). Communication of benefits information and providing technical assistance to team members will be essential functions of this position. The HR Generalist will facilitate the recruitment process by posting job openings and collaborating with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs. They will manage the onboarding processes for both bargaining and non-bargaining personnel, handling all administrative tasks related to new member orientations and off-boarding. This includes conducting background checks, employment verifications, and I-9 verification tracking for all new hires. Additionally, the HR Generalist will be responsible for maintaining compliance with mandatory training and will handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, ensuring that complex matters are referred to the appropriate staff. Maintaining up-to-date records in the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and compiling reports from databases will also be part of the HR Generalist's responsibilities. The individual will ensure that member data and personnel records are maintained in accordance with policy, state, and federal regulations. They will also be tasked with keeping track of member birthdays and benchmark anniversaries, as well as staying informed about trends, best practices, and new technologies in the HR field. The HR Generalist will recommend new processes to meet the evolving HR needs of the organization and will participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as necessary. Regular and predictable attendance is expected, along with the ability to perform other duties as assigned.
