About the position

The Human Resources Intern at Performance Contracting Group will support the HR Department during the summer of 2025. This full-time paid internship will provide hands-on experience in various HR functions, including compliance with federal contracts, recruiting, employee onboarding, and substance abuse prevention programming. The intern will gain practical knowledge in the recruiting process, employment law, data integrity in HR systems, and employee benefits management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with HR projects related to federal contracts compliance.
• Support the recruiting process by posting job openings and reviewing resumes.
• Conduct phone interviews and assist in making job offers.
• Learn about employment law and compliance, including confidentiality and employee file management.
• Participate in the administration of the substance abuse prevention program.
• Collaborate with various HR roles to understand their functions and responsibilities.
• Maintain data integrity through audits and management of HR systems.
• Assist in managing employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources, Business, Business Administration, or a similar field.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week for ten weeks during the summer of 2025.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to new projects as needed.
• Willingness to take initiative within a team environment.
• Accountability for completing independent work.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
