About the position

Kuraray's paid internship program allows students the opportunity to obtain valuable, applicable work experience in a fast-paced, and challenging environment. The program blends real-world experience with an extensive overview of the chemical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The internship will be 13 weeks in duration for the summer of 2025 with flexible start dates. Student interns must be able to work full-time. The internship will be split between a major project and daily tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Recruiting Support: Assist with recruiting with the 2025 recruiting strategy and onboarding process for new employees, including paperwork, background checks, and orientation activities.
  • Data Reporting: Prepare and maintain HR-related reports, including employee demographics, turnover, and time and attendance data. Assist in data analysis to identify trends and provide insights to support HR decision-making. Create and update HR dashboards and presentations for management. Support the HR team in preparing reports for compliance, audits, file feeds, and other HR-related needs.
  • General HR Support: Assist with general HR administrative tasks such as filing, document management, and responding to employee inquiries. Participate in HR projects and initiatives, providing research and administrative support. Collaborate with HR team members on various HR-related tasks and projects as needed. Assist with policy review, updates, and research.
  • Learning and Development: Assist with creating/developing/implementing training for managers. Assist with creating development plans.
  • Benefits: Create SOPs for benefits. Analyze and create a training plan for benefits.
  • Compensation: Assist with the Understanding Pay project. Support the Compensation Specialist as needed.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Completed two years of college education before beginning internship (3rd or 4th year student).
  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Human Resources, Business or similar degree.
  • Strong academic performance minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA and extracurricular achievement.
  • Excel and/or PowerBI experience.
  • Creative and Flexible.
  • Ability to prioritize a variety of different projects and requests.
  • Demonstrated communication, writing, and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven track record of adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity.
  • Must have legal U.S. working authorization to participate in the program.
  • Must successfully pass the pre-employment screening process.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
