About the position

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Human Resources Intern to join our growing team. This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State. Interns are college students who work for Janicki to obtain work experience in varying disciplines. They work during a college break, e.g. summer break for a duration of 10-12 weeks (minimum commitment of 10 weeks). We are seeking an enthusiastic HR Intern to join our team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience in HR operations and insight into Janicki. As an HR Intern, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the HR function as well as gaining exposure to different facets of HR management.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and confirm interviews with candidates.
  • Work with incoming new hires to ensure all preemployment items are complete.
  • Work with HR or Training Coordinator to schedule and implement new hire orientation.
  • Participate in organizing company events and careers days.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters.
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately; use good judgment as to what to communicate to whom as well as the best way to get that accomplished.
  • Recognize opportunities and initiate actions to capitalize on them; look for new and productive ways to make an impact.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain good attendance as a condition of employment.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status.
  • Studying toward a degree in human resource management or related field.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work well independently and under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language.
