About the position

The Human Resources & Labor Relations Site Manager will play a strategic role at the Anniston, AL manufacturing facility, which is located on the Anniston Army Depot and at an off-site warehouse. This position is crucial for establishing and maintaining a deep understanding of the client organizations and the business, which is essential for building effective and productive working relationships with internal stakeholders and clients at all levels of the organization. The selected candidate will coach business leaders on various HR policies and processes, including employee relations, performance management, staffing, compensation, affirmative action, and EEO programs, as well as organizational development and employee learning and development. In addition, the Site Manager will execute and partner with the Labor Relations Solution Center to ensure alignment with a proactive Labor Relations strategy. This includes leading the administration and providing advice for the GDLS-USW collective bargaining agreement, which encompasses grievances, mediation, arbitration, local negotiations, and other local labor relations activities. The role also involves supporting and coaching management on a wide variety of labor relations issues and developing effective working relationships with local union leadership to resolve shop floor and contract administration issues. The Site Manager will collaborate with the Talent Acquisition solution center, focusing on acquiring and retaining top talent and building a pipeline for future needs. This includes strategies for on-campus recruiting, technical colleges/trade schools, military recruitment initiatives, and intern/co-op programs. The role requires a thoughtful, integrated approach to promote diversity and inclusion in talent attraction, development, and retention. The HR function will be led at operational staff meetings and HR staff meetings, effectively communicating HR initiatives and reminding staff of existing programs. The Site Manager will also conduct salary analysis for new hires, merit, promotions, and other salary transactions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain an understanding of client organizations and the business to build effective working relationships with stakeholders.

  • Interpret policies and provide guidance to managers, employees, and HR business partners.
  • Facilitate resolution of complex employee concerns and counsel management on corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Interact positively with other HR Solution Centers to achieve functional goals and objectives.
  • Report and analyze a variety of HR Metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related curriculum required; Master's degree and/or HRCI certification (PHR/SPHR) is a plus.
  • Ten (10) or more years of HR experience or relevant business experience, with three (3) years as a people leader preferred.
  • Demonstrated high level of leadership capability and champion of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to balance the role of employee advocate and management advisor.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment and administering a collective bargaining agreement is a plus.
  • Experience in business negotiations.
