The Human Resources Manager for Data Centers North America (DC NA) is the vertical's functional leader charged with developing, organizing and executing all Human Resources organizational and talent strategies to support the DC NA business. This position may work closely with other verticals and Regional HR peers in the Climate Solutions segment. The position reports solid line to the Global Director, Human Resources for Climate Solutions, and dotted-line to the VP/GM of DC NA. The position is part of the DC NA Leadership Team and will work with the team to develop, organize and execute organizational and talent strategies to support the overall business.

Responsibilities

  • Acting HR business partner supporting all DC NA employees in the Racine, WI global headquarters location and supporting manufacturing operations in the Rockbridge, VA and Grenada, MS location
  • Hire & retain the talent to accelerate profitable growth in all locations
  • Developing a culture that fits the business model for growth, which is based on Modine values and promotes diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Succession planning, including the development of future leaders
  • Being a Change Agent focusing on the impact of change including changes to culture, business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organizational structures
  • Building a high performing and effective HR team, with the expertise and capabilities to execute the HR strategy aligned with the Vertical and segment strategy and operational HR excellence
  • Ensuring policies comply with any laws that affect the company globally
  • Implementing talent acquisition strategy that quickly fills roles with top talent
  • Overseeing employee compensation, benefits, and payroll and implement changes if necessary in applicable locations/countries
  • Coach HR team to develop skills and capabilities that result in functional execution excellence
  • Ensure team is structured for growth and roles occupied by high potential talent who will scale as the organization grows
  • Implement robust IDPs for all direct reports & scalable talent in the function
  • Drive a safety culture with Operations leadership to improve safety RIR and safety behaviors in Modine locations
  • Be a strategic partner to the VP/GM responsible for ensuring functional alignment with the business's strategic growth initiatives
  • Participate in portions of key annual strategic processes: Annual Operating Plan, Strategic Plan and drive key HR processes including the PDP, Talent Development Process and others
  • Identify specific development areas and provide feedback on individual development plans for VP/GM & DC NA Leadership Team
  • Offer timely, actionable feedback as opportunities arise to improve individual and team performance
  • Coordinate and manage career development plans, based on performance reviews, 360 reviews, Talent/HR Review, etc.
  • Coordinate and manage training initiatives; annual Talent/HR Review, leadership development, employee skills training and development
  • Coordinate and manage performance management process, driving performance management further into the culture
  • Drive employee engagement through targeted activities and programs, enabling participation in annual survey to measure progress
  • Build a diverse team and ensure an inclusive culture
  • With VP/GM develop leadership team skills in change management
  • Support the VP/GM and DC NA Leadership Team in defining the organizational/cultural transformation strategy and framework in order to ensure a smooth, effective and sustainable transformation, and support the implementation as needed
  • Provide oversight for the interpretation and guidance relative to company policies and procedures
  • Promote internal communication and manages employee issues to satisfactory resolution, providing guidance to supervisors and managers addressing employee issues
  • Ensure site organizational compliance with all labor laws and guidelines
  • Ensure communication and HR presence at all business facilities
  • Develop, implement and maintain processes that ensure regulatory and organizational policy compliance
  • Develop and communicate HR metrics to management team, highlighting their impact on the business
  • Develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan designed to institutionalize top-grading and the continuous improvement of the business's talent pool
  • Deliver a staffing plan that aligns with business objectives, incorporates traditional and non-traditional recruitment sources and attracts qualified diverse candidates to the organization
  • Manage and execute the recruitment process; advertising, job descriptions, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks
  • Manage and develop relationships with recruitment agencies (temporary and permanent placement)
  • In partnership with leaders, strengthen employee 'on-boarding' process
  • Coordinate and implement compensation plans as needed
  • Ensure compensation plans across the organization align to drive desired employee and business performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field. An MBA or Masters in Human Resources is preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in Human Resources Business Partner or Manager role including past leadership/supervisory assignment(s)
  • Demonstrated successful track record working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment is required.
  • Demonstrated success in driving culture change
  • Organizational development and or coaching experience is required
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
