About the position

The Employee Experience Manager at Shalom Austin is responsible for fostering a positive workplace culture by managing employee relations, performance management, and coordinating employee training and development programs. This role ensures employee engagement and alignment with the organization's mission and values, while also overseeing basic office operations to ensure smooth daily activities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints, conflicts, and workplace issues in a timely and confidential manner.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop policies and procedures that promote fair and consistent employee relations practices.
  • Advise on employment law and HR best practices to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee the performance management process, including mid-year and annual performance evaluations.
  • Provide training and guidance to managers on effective performance management techniques, including coaching, feedback, and development planning.
  • Manage underperformance cases, ensuring that corrective action plans are executed fairly and consistently.
  • Lead the implementation and management of employee engagement surveys, including communication, data analysis, and action planning.
  • Hold listening tours with departments to understand the reasons behind engagement data.
  • Coordinate the employee training calendar and schedule, including Training Tuesdays, Supervisors Trainings, All Staff meetings, and the ACE cohort.
  • Assist with onboarding and new hire orientations, collaborating with the Orientation Team.
  • Oversee day-to-day office operations, including maintaining office supplies and serving as the primary point of contact with visitors.
  • Help manage office/desk moves, ensuring spaces are cleaned and ready for new hires.
  • Coordinate with Facilities on maintenance/cleaning requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR, employee relations, or employee experience roles, with a focus on performance management, employee engagement, and training.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, conflict resolution, and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience managing employee engagement surveys and implementing data-driven engagement initiatives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred but not required.
