About the position

The Human Resources Manager position at Qbtech in Jersey City, NJ, is a hybrid role responsible for overseeing all human resource functions within the firm. This includes resource planning, recruitment, performance evaluations, disciplinary procedures, benefits administration, and employee relations. The role requires collaboration with the Chief Human Resources Officer and involves continuous evaluation and improvement of HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide managerial and administrative support to the Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Evaluate current Firm policies & procedures and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage recruiting, hiring, development, and retention programs in compliance with regulations.
  • Determine staffing needs and maintain benchmarked staffing ratios.
  • Oversee non-exempt personnel to ensure Firm expectations are met.
  • Handle employee relations and resolve employment conflicts.
  • Ensure compliance in handling requests for leaves of absence.
  • Coordinate with Payroll and Benefits Coordinator regarding benefit plans.
  • Maintain updated standard job descriptions for support staff.
  • Keep Managing Partners informed of HR matters and assist with reports and financial analysis.
  • Assist with the integration of new attorneys.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field.
  • 4+ years of progressively responsible work experience in HR, preferably in a law firm.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or PHR certification is a plus.
  • Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and recommend solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with partners, attorneys, and staff.
  • Broad knowledge of law firm services, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft software.
