About the position

As a Human Resources Manager at Paradies Lagardère, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring operational excellence within our retail and dining environment at JFK Airport. Your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain an engaged workforce, driving career development and learning opportunities for team members. In this role, you will inspire and mentor team members, helping them reach their full potential while developing a strong bench of talent for future leadership positions. You will be responsible for sourcing high-potential candidates, ensuring compliance with training requirements, and conducting performance evaluations. Your leadership will be crucial in driving associate engagement through various initiatives, including the annual engagement survey and recognition programs. You will also act as an advocate for associates, maintaining an open-door policy and fostering a supportive work environment. Operationally, you will guide and train business partners and associates on HR policies and processes, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate standards. You will conduct employee relations investigations, analyze organizational health issues, and collaborate with business leaders to address any areas of concern. Your role will also involve leading the onboarding process for new hires and acting as a trusted resource for managers and associates on HR topics. In terms of profitability, you will manage personnel and payroll-related administrative duties, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and completing accident reports as necessary. Your innovative mindset will help identify opportunities for improvement, and you will be expected to adapt to fast-paced changes while maximizing resources to enhance productivity. Effective communication will be key, as you will need to convey information clearly to various audiences and foster open lines of communication within the team.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in the Food and Beverage environment.
  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Human Resources is desirable.
  • Firsthand responsibility and/or exposure to recruitment, benefits, training, payroll, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local labor regulations.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
