About the position

The HR Manager - Payroll & Benefits is responsible for overseeing the Human Resources functions at Blachford Milcut, specifically focusing on payroll and benefits administration across four U.S. locations. This role involves managing benefit programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting employee wellness initiatives while providing guidance to the HR team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer all benefit programs including health/dental, life, flexible spending, disability insurance, and 401k for U.S. employees.
• Coordinate selection of new benefit vendors and manage annual renewals.
• Analyze claims experience and develop plan design changes for senior management review.
• Handle open enrollment for all benefit plans and act as primary contact with external vendors.
• Oversee wellness program initiatives and coordinate onsite health screenings.
• Administer employee compensation programs including merit and bonus programs, 401(k) plan, and profit-sharing plan.
• Ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA regulations.
• Conduct employee surveys and demographic research for accurate benefit quotes.
• Submit government reporting such as EEO-1 and federal E-Verify program.
• Provide support and guidance to direct reports, including performance reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; PHR designation is a plus.
• 5+ years of general HR experience and 3+ years of payroll and benefits experience.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite including Teams.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
