About the position

The Human Resources Manager at The Salvation Army is responsible for overseeing all HR functions for the Adult Rehabilitation Center. This includes managing recruitment, staffing, employee relations, and compliance with HR laws. The role also involves handling payroll issues, maintaining employee records, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. The position requires a strong understanding of HR practices and the ability to provide guidance on various employee-related matters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide guidance on all human resources functions for the Adult Rehabilitation Center.
  • Oversee recruitment, staffing, and new hire orientation processes.
  • Handle employee benefits and employee relations issues.
  • Investigate disciplinary issues and provide recommendations to management.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidential medical information and track employee leaves.
  • Review and maintain timesheets in the computerized timekeeping system.
  • Coordinate annual benefit open enrollment and monitor employee benefit eligibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business, or management from an accredited school.
  • Five years of experience in the human resource field.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred.
  • Valid State Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a non-profit organization.
  • Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and FLSA regulations.
