About the position

Join our dynamic team at Georgia Southern University as the Talent Acquisition Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Talent Acquisition team and managing the day-to-day operations of employment activities across our vibrant campuses. In this position, you will ensure that the Talent Acquisition team delivers timely and effective support for employment activities, adhering to the university's service standards and fostering efficient communication within the team. Your responsibilities will include managing the functions and activities of Talent Acquisition in alignment with the university's mission and strategic plan. You will supervise the Talent Acquisition team, building and maintaining relationships with campus and community constituents to effectively resolve issues and interpret HR policies. Compliance with federal and state laws, as well as university policies, will be a key focus, ensuring that all employment practices are conducted ethically and legally. You will assess the needs of faculty, staff, and student employees to ensure that adequate services are available, and you will administer criminal background investigations and oversee employee drug and alcohol screenings as directed by the Office of Legal Affairs. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Talent Acquisition to provide responsive support for employment activities.
  • Manage functions and activities of Talent Acquisition consistent with the University's mission and strategic plan.
  • Supervise the Talent Acquisition Team and ensure compliance with University service standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships with campus and community constituents.
  • Support HR staff and the University community to effectively resolve problems and interpret HR policies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, as well as University and USG policies.
  • Assess faculty, staff, and student employee needs to ensure adequate services are available from Talent Acquisition.
  • Administer the Criminal Background Investigation practices for staff, faculty, temporary, and student employees.
  • Oversee employee drug and alcohol screenings for the University.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree OR Seven (7) or more years of related work experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience in Talent Acquisition or HR.

Nice-to-haves

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
  • Progressive experience in employment or recruitment.
  • Prior experience supervising full-time or part-time staff members.
