About the position

As a Human Resources Manager at Loews Hotels & Co., you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining a highly efficient and effective benefits program for employees. This position is located at the beautiful Loews Coronado Bay Resort, a private oasis that offers stunning views of the San Diego skyline and bay waters. Your responsibilities will include entering and maintaining employee data in the Human Resources Information System, as well as explaining and discussing employee benefits information with staff. You will assist the Director and Assistant Director of Human Resources with various team member issues, ensuring a supportive and compliant work environment. In this role, you will be responsible for enrolling and monitoring eligible employees in the health benefits program using Work Day. You will also oversee the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Leave of Absence (LOA) processes, ensuring that all procedures are followed correctly. Training managers and supervisors on FMLA law and hotel processes will be a key part of your duties, as will generating quarterly average hours reports. Additionally, you will coordinate the annual Health and Safety Fair in collaboration with the Security team and manage yearly open enrollment communications and meetings. Your involvement will extend to providing benefits information during employee orientation and addressing team member issues, including terminations and investigations. You will also monitor Workers' Compensation issues and perform other duties as assigned, ensuring that all HR functions align with hotel standards and regulations. Your role will require excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills, as well as a thorough understanding of insurance and employee benefits program administration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of a highly efficient and effective benefits program for employees.
  • Enter and maintain employee data in the Human Resources Information System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a manager/supervisor in a hotel or resort setting.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of insurance and employee benefits program administration.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
