The Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott, a dual property on Jekyll Island, GA, is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join their team. If you have a passion for hospitality, engaging with people, and spearheading change, this job is for you. We are looking for a Human Resources Professional that can drive a positive culture, be savvy about compliance, and bring strategic thinking to make hotel operations an all-around success. As the Human Resources Manager, you will manage the entire Human Resources function for the property, including hiring, engagement, employee relations, and partnering with the Corporate Office on any legal matters or investigations. You will partner with the Hotel’s General Manager to foster a positive work environment for all employees. Actively engaging with the staff by walking around the hotel, getting to know employees, and hosting team-building events will be key to your success in this role. You will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, as well as with brand and management company standards, policies, and procedures. Spearheading employee culture initiatives, including but not limited to AOS, team-building events, and training and development initiatives, will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will manage the recruitment and hiring process, including the J1 visa program, and create out-of-the-box campaigns to attract and retain talent. You will be responsible for managing the entire employee cycle and completing administrative tasks related to the HR functions. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Ensure compliance with brand and management company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Spearhead employee culture, including but not limited to AOS, team-building events, training, and development initiatives.
  • Manage recruitment and hiring process, including J1 visa program and create out-of-the-box campaigns to attract and retain talent.
  • Responsible for managing the entire employee cycle.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to the HR functions.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience within Human Resources required, preferably at least 3 years as a Manager.
  • Strong understanding of Georgia and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Proven strategic engagement within the HR operation.
  • Prior hospitality experience or experience in a similar industry preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Prior experience with UKG (company transitioning out of ADP) helpful but not required.
