About the position

As the Human Resources Manager at Mersen, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all human resources activities at the site level in Greenville, Michigan. This permanent, full-time position requires you to manage a variety of HR functions including employee recruitment, retention, payroll, performance management, compensation and benefits, and learning and development. You will also be responsible for policy implementation and record keeping, ensuring that all HR practices align with the company's values and objectives. In this role, you will be an integral part of the site management team, working collaboratively to promote a positive workplace culture and support all employees. Your responsibilities will include managing the entire recruitment process and onboarding of new employees, maintaining employee retention strategies, and ensuring that all HR policies and procedures are current and effectively communicated. You will also oversee the annual performance management campaigns and facilitate various learning and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and career growth. Additionally, you will serve as an advisor to both employees and site leadership, ensuring compliance with HR regulations and fostering a positive work environment. Your commitment to continually improving HR functions and efficiencies will be essential in driving the success of the HR department and the overall organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of recruiting and employee onboarding along with maintaining employee retention
  • Ensure proper procedures and policies are implemented, kept current and communicated
  • Maintain employee personnel files and act as the site record keeper
  • Oversee annual performance management campaigns
  • Facilitate learning and development initiatives
  • Advise employees and site leadership to maintain compliance and a positive work environment
  • Strive to continually improve HR functions and efficiencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and/or Human Resources
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a human resources role
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred
  • Good interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain discretion
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Applications and proficient in ADP
