About the position

The HR Manager at M&M Custard, LLC, a franchisee of Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, plays a crucial role in enhancing the employee experience and operational efficiency. This position serves as a strategic partner to operational leadership, focusing on all aspects of human resources, including employee relations, benefits management, and compliance with labor laws. The HR Manager is expected to foster a positive work environment while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct employee relations investigations, including loss of hours, harassment, and substance abuse cases.
  • Provide guidance on company policies and procedures to all team members.
  • Manage employee relations issues across multiple franchise locations and communicate with District Managers and the Executive Director of Operations as needed.
  • Train management on recruiting, onboarding, and HR processes and expectations.
  • Manage benefit communications, enrollments, and terminations.
  • Adjust management access on all platforms for internal promotions and external new hires.
  • Conduct first and/or second interviews for District Managers, General Managers, Assistant Managers, and Shift Managers.
  • Review, analyze, and provide turnover data and wage analysis to leadership.
  • Partner with operations and support staff on company projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with minor labor laws and manage work permits.
  • Oversee 401K enrollments, hardships, and terminations.
  • Review, verify, and approve/deny Leave of Absence requests for FMLA and Non-FMLA qualified team members.
  • Assist enrolled team members in submitting for STD/LTD time off as needed.
  • Manage Workers Compensation claims with injured team members and the work comp carrier.
  • Adhere to ACA compliance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Experience with Paylocity and Workstream preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in employee relations and investigations.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
