About the position

We are currently seeking an HR Manager to join our team as we enter into a transformational journey at Reworld. This role will have an opportunity to support Reworld's Southeast Connecticut, Haverhill, and Bristol Waste to Energy facilities. This role will provide HR generalist support in the areas of employee relations, policy development and administration, performance management, staffing, and training & development to the leadership teams and employees within the Southeast Connecticut, Haverhill, and Bristol sites (approximately 200 employees in total). The HR Manager will counsel facility managers on employee relation issues through the consistent and equitable application of company policies and procedures, assist in the resolution of employee complaints and grievances, and conduct investigations as necessary. In addition, the HR Manager will manage recruitment efforts within the assigned facilities, partnering with facility managers to assess workforce planning needs. This includes determining recruitment strategies for open and future roles and providing support and guidance in the recruitment process. The HR Manager will proactively identify cost-effective recruitment sources and programs, building effective partnerships with local agencies, universities, vocational schools, etc., to source talent for open roles with a focus on improving diversity, equity, and inclusion. The role also involves providing support and guidance to managers in the areas of compensation, compliance, talent development, succession planning, performance management, retention strategies, effective record-keeping, and general HR-related issues. The HR Manager will deliver corporate HR initiatives and programs effectively throughout the area, assist in the development, implementation, and communication of company policies and procedures, and create an environment of positive employee relations. This includes balancing business needs with employee needs, establishing trust and credibility with employees, and being seen as approachable and fair. Additionally, the HR Manager will role model safety leadership, ensuring that safety practices are integrated into the workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant HR experience; preferably in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Business or HR Major; PHR or SPHR preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to independently prioritize workload effectively.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong knowledge of employment/labor law and progressive HR practices.
  • Experience with Workday a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with HR software and systems.
